Our common goal for the Smart City program is to develop specific project ideas for sustainable and digital urban development and subsequently follow through on these.
We have currently reached the following phase in this program: Having discussed and developed a large number of exciting project ideas in workshops and a wide range of working groups over the past few months, we have now defined a total of nine pilot projects. These are concrete projects which are fairly simple but which will deliver a high level of benefit and can be realized on a short- or medium-term basis. In order to determine on this basis whether a project idea fulfills all of our stated criteria, we have submitted all of these proposals to an in-depth benefit and complexity review process and assessed the level of sustainable added value which they will provide.
Now that this information event has been completed, it is time to actually follow through on our pilot projects. We have jointly established a total of four working groups for this purpose which are responsible for the development and realization of Norderstedt’s Smart City projects: Digital Society, Smart and Sustainable Mobility, Urban Data and Smart Work & Smart Economy. What does this mean exactly? All of the city’s stakeholders and those of the municipal utilities are able to pursue a regular dialog through this framework; in addition, these working groups are establishing a technical framework enabling the realization of these projects.
